NCA of Kazakhstan is pleased to inform of the launch of pilot project for recording the individuals’ digital signatures into ID cards (under the new standard, with digital media). The advantage of placing digital signature in ID card lays in its secure storage, with no possibility of copying the private key. In case of loss of ID card, no one can use the digital signature without knowing the PIN code (just like the case with bank card), moreover, digital signature holder can at any time make it ineffective by applying for revocation. To make use of digital signature in the ID card, one needs to purchase the smart-card reader. As yet, only CSC in Mirzoyan str. Astana is issuing digital signatures in ID cards, and shortly, two CSCs in Almaty will do so as well.
