National Certification Authority of the Republic of Kazakhstan pki.gov.kz an additional verification period is introduced when reissuing electronic digital signature  keys in the personal account of the portal.

In the process of reissuing EDS keys, additional verification is carried out in one of the following two ways:

SMS confirmation by entering a one-time code sent to a mobile phone number registered in the database of mobile citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

entering the code obtained from a digital document in the eGov Mobile application.

It should be noted that this mechanism does not apply to non-residents of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the absence of a phone number registered in the database of mobile citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The measures taken are aimed at increasing the level of security, protecting users from illegal use of electronic digital signature keys, as well as making the process of reissuing keys more reliable.
